Joshua Barrett, of Woodbridge, approached a 36-year-old man around 8:05 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, at Botts Avenue and Horner Road, and struck him multiple times, county police said.
Officers were in the area at the time and were flagged down shortly after the encounter. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the assault. Barrett was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. He's being held without bond.
